I just got an askance from the service dept. saying that my 2002 Elantra
GT’s tires have wear to the _outside_ inch of the tires that an alignment is
in order……………..?
My question is that why would an alignment help since the wear is on ALL 4
TIRES ?
This car is 24 months old BUT with only _ 10K miles on it ……………

heck my brand new 2004 Elantra GT was 2 months old and required a 4 wheel
wheel alignment.. I hit no curbs. I dont drive down bumpy roads.. my only
answer would be that it came from the factory like that… they wanted to
charge me to have it done I was like NOT. the car is brand new and obviously
it came from the factory that way.. my saving grace was that day there was a
Hyundai Rep at the dealer and he took care of it for me. no problems since..

Thanks, I didn’t know there was a ’4 wheel wheel alignment’ …..I come from
the old school
of american cars and front end alignments , oh well guess I’ll have it done
($99 ouch) .

Thanks Pete, hey it _does_ corner and ride great though……………
Just would have liked them to say something about an alignment when I asked
them if it looked like
the tires seemed to be wearing unevenly at 9 months when the suspension was
still under warrantee.
