2007 Entourage A/C

My wife’s 2007 Entourage w/ 40,000 miles suddenly developed an A/C
problem.  Two days ago, the A/C was working fine and yesterday morning
it was blowing nothing but hot air.  Any suggestions?

TIA,
Bill

Mystery metallic grinding noise…

I sadly have a problem on my ’06 Sonata that is proving very difficult
to cure.

On cold starts, when the car has been sitting for at least 8 hrs or
so, I will hear a (sometimes faint sometimes louder) metallic grinding
noise coming from under the hood somewhere, possibly near my wheels,
though I’m not sure.

I took it into the Hyundai dealership here, who rather quickly deduced
it was the power-steering pump.  Well…It was replaced 48 hrs ago and
I just cold-started it…and the noise is still there.

While I’m totally ignorant on any mechanic stuff not involving the
most basic of 70′s era American cars…I suspect some sort of bearing
or belt or chain issue.

Hyundaitech-man…PLEASE HELP !  I have to drive this thing 800 miles
to my wedding in 10 days !

Question for Hyundaitech on AT Drain Plug

Hyundaitech,

What is the tightening torque for the 24mm automatic transmission
drain plug on a 2006 Elantra?  I can seem to find the spec anywhere.

Thanks,
Don

Follow up to Entourage AC problem

Follow-up:  I checked and the 7.5 amp (compressor?) fuse was blown – I
didn’t replace it as my wife had an appointment with the dealer the
next day.  The repair ticket listed low freon as the problem and no
mention of the fuse replacement.  Should I be concerned?

Hyundai launches first hybrid vehicle

Finally joining the hybrid party, Hyundai launched its first hybrid vehicle today in its domestic market of South Korea. Dubbed the Elantra LPI, Hyundai’s first hybrid uses liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and a set of lithium-ion polymer batteries. dome light not working, XG300

2 questions:

1)  How do you replace the dome light bulbs?  There are two in a small
pannel on the ceiling that also has two switches for the sunroof, two on/off
switches for the dome lights, and a selector switch that allows you to
select whether the dome lights are off, on, or on when a door is open.  I
was told that the plastic cover just "pops off"  but I’ve pryed about as
hard as I dare and it doesn’t seem to be comming apart…I don’t want to
break it.

2)  What else would I check, as I really don’t think its both bulbs.  Other
bulbs on the fuse work, so its not the fuse.  The selector switch might do
it, broken it the "off" position – I’ll check when I get the thing apart.
I’ve observed that the bulbs use to "fade" out when they shut off and there
was a delay between closing the door and the bulb going out, so either there
is an elaborate circuit somewhere or the computer is controlling this.
Anybody seen this failure before?

Thanks

Dan

am/fm/cassette in 2004 Sonata

I have the am fm cd cassette in my Sonata.

Bought the empty cassette with a cord gadget to play my iPod thru the car speakers, but the cassette player seems to constantly see the end of tape signal and tries to reverse the non-existant tape.

Any way to make this thing work?
Thanks
Jim
