2008 Santa Fe FWD 6C Mileage Issue

I have a 2008 Santa Fe with FWD, 6 Cylinders, Auto…and get 12 MPG in
the city and 18 on the highway.

The sticker said 18 city and 24 highway…the service manager told me
that car is still "breaking in" at 3000 miles and that mileage should
improve over time.

I think he is full of shit….as most Stealers are.

Any thoughts/comments?

Hyundai Santa Fe Limited AWD

The first generation Santa Fe was tying to be everything to everyone. The car wanted to be cute enough for the soccer moms while being aggressive enough to appease the off-road crowd. The resulting car may have looked a little odd, but it was a best seller for Hyundai over its five-year run. When the second generation hit the market last year, it showed that Hyundai figured out that the best way to make everyone happy was with a sleek design. This car is a step up in every way from the (…)

2004 Tiburon Fuel Filter

Does the 2004 Tiburon V6 have a replaceable fuel filter?
The parts guy at my local dealer says that it’s a part of the
fuel pump assy and not meant to be replaced until you replace
the fuel pump. The less-than-helpful Hyundai service manual
sort of implies that it’s actually above the gas tank, beneath
the rear seat.

Which is it? I can’t believe you can go 100-150K miles on
one fuel filter! The ones I’ve changed on other cars have
brownish fuel in them after only 30K miles.

Have You Seen Fuelly.com?

Hey Everybody,

Have you seen this site yet?  It’s pretty cool.  It’s centered around
tracking your gas mileage. I’ve been tracking it myself for years but I
like being able to plug in my info and see it graphed out.  I’m tracking
my ’07 Accent and my ’03 Subaru Baja. It’s cool seeing what other drivers
around the world are driving and their mileage.  I think it’s interesting,
maybe you will too.  Check it out.
