2002 Sonata, brake rotors and pads?

I have a 2002 Sonata in need of new brake rotors and pads but I can’t seem
to find any auto parts dealers  in my area who have them in stock.  A friend
told me that the 2002 Sonata uses the same rotors as the 2001.  Is there any
truth in that?

Getz speed sensor location

Hello, all

Does anybody know how to find the speed sensor or a wire that comes from
it in a Getz GL (2004)? I´m trying to install a navigation system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question about tire rotation

Brought my Elantra in for a tire rotation and was told that the tread depth on all four tires was exactly the same, thus wearing optimally.  I had the tires rotated anyway, but I wonder if there was any point?  Is it good to rotate tires even when they do not show uneven wear?

30 k?

I just got my 30k done and from what i can tell the dealership (a hyundai
dealership) did everything, EXECPT the spark plugs, they said that they
did not need to be done, but from what i read they should be done!? I even
wrote on the drop off slip to replace the spark plugs if nessicary, and on
my receipt they printed out that the spark plugs do not need to be
changed. So am i safe under the warrenty or should i insist that they area
changed. Also I have been having a problem with my lights on the
spedometor, and they said that becasue i have an aftermarket raido they
cannot do anything and its not covered under warrenty.?!?! I had taken my
car to another dealership (dealership "B") for this problem and they said
it was covered (they had to order the parts) the reason i did not take it
back to dealership B was becasue they seems to be overcharging me and
adding things to there 30k plan that I do not need, and i wanted to get
everything done in one stop.
whats going on here?
i have a 2002 accent.

Using 5W-30 in Los Angeles

Hi group,

Just wondering what you all think of using 5W30 synthetic oil in LA
driving conditions.  It’s been damn hot out here lately–and I know
5W30 is for 95 degrees and less, but does the fact that it’s synthetic
oil make it more versatile?

2003 Elantra Starting Problem

My 2003 Elantra (12000 mi) is very hard to start after
sitting overnight, so I took it to the dealer and they said they
adjusted something in the programming and if that did not fix
it that I would need a ‘top engine cleaning’ which in not covered
under warranty.  The programming adjustment did not fix it and
no one I know has ever heard of a ‘top engine cleaning’, are they
trying to get into my purse or what???

Interchangeability between Lantra (Europe) and Elantra (US)?

Hi,

I have a 2000 Elantra GLS wagon that I bought in the US. About 1.5 years
after I bought it, the automatic transmission needed to be replaced under
warranty. Hyundai stood by it, no problem.

Since that time, I have moved to Germany and shipped the car here as well.
That was almost two years ago. I have now been told that the transmission
needs to be replaced AGAIN.

One concern: In Europe, Hyundai doesn’t sell the Elantra; but they sell the
Lantra. I’ve seen several that look at least outwardly to be virtually
identical.

Does anyone know whether a Lantra transmission would work in an Elantra? I’m
still trying to see if I can get this under warranty since I’m still under 5
years/100,000 miles…trying to hash out whether tha fact that I’m now in
Europe is an issue.  Hopefully, I can avoid having to have a new
transmission shipped from the US.

I had to have the windshield replaced last year, and they were able to use a
Lantra windshield.

Thanks,
Mike
