My 2007 Tiburon has a cigarette lighter but no dedicated electrical socket.
The salesman told me I could plug things into the cig lighter, like a cell
phone recharger etc.
I have plugged a solar panel trickle charger into the cig lighter and it
seemed to be fine but lately sometimes I have trouble unlocking/locking the
doors with the remote. Unplugging the trickle charger seemed to solve that
problm once but I plugged the charger back in and was able to lock and arm
the doors. However, when I returned the next morning, the doors would not
unlock with the remote. Is there some correlation? Can I sent electricity to
the battery with the solar trickle charger plugged into the cig lighter or
am I just wasting my time? Could it be what’s interfering with the remote?

In the two odd years I’ve been driving this ’99 Hyundai Accent, the
brake and battery light have always flickered in rhythm with the rpms
of the engine.  The one time I had it checked out, the garage gave the
alternator a yellow, (caution) warning.  They said it was still
working but wasn’t in the best condition.  Now today for the first
time, these lights are on and won’t go off.  Also in the recent past I
was told the brake cylinders were leaking and had two of them
replaced.  Brake fluid levels seem to be fine as well.

What should I do?

Any help is appreciated.

I can’t switch gear out of park intermittantly. Sometimes it takes
several minutes and multiple attempts to get into drive. I push break
pedal but gear handle remains locked.

What should I check first? The car is still under 100,000 powertrain
warranty. Is this problem covered?

During the yesterday’s slippery rush hour my son hit the front right
wheel to curb so hard that now is no longer parallel with the other
one, but at about 10 degrees, facing outside.
Is this a very complicated repair, would it require a computer to
re-align the wheels? Does it have to be at a dealership?

didnt have any arms and my first born was older than me……

Wife just called saying front power seat on our 2007 Santa Fe, would only go
forward.  She was trying to move it back and it wouldn’t go.  So she moved
it forward a little bit thinking who knows what.  Anyway, it will not move
backward and now she is in a very uncomfortable driving position.  She
hasn’t yet checked to see if anything might be blocking it, but I don’t
think there is anything back there that could be blocking it.

Any ideas?  We are 80 miles from nearest dealer.

Hi All,

Two questions relating to my 2001 Hyundai Elantra:

1) A couple of bulbs have burned out on the instrument cluster. I’m
having trouble replacing the two smaller lights that went out (fuel
gauge backlight and transmission gear indicator – drive): They’re
teenie tiny bulbs – 3/16" in diameter, about 1 millimeter smaller than
a size 37 bulb. I could not get the 37 into the twist-lock socket. Is
there some other size I should be looking for? I swear I spent an hour
looking through hmaservice.com and could not find bulb size
specifications for instrument panel bulbs.

2) I have had my left headlight burn out 3 times in about a year and a
half. It’s starting to be a noticeable cost. What might cause one
headlight to burn out frequently?

I’ve just installed a new opener and trying to follow the instructions
in the car’s manual and the homelink.com site and I cannot get it to
work.

It seems simple enough but has anyone run across any "tricks".  I feel
stupid.

Any suggestions?

How to change spark plugs..My car is running heavy or rough (55000
miles). I don’t recall changling plugs.. Could it be due to some other
reason!
