Tire wear = alignment ?

I just got an askance from the service dept. saying that my 2002 Elantra
GT’s tires have wear to the _outside_ inch of the tires that an alignment is
in order……………..?

My question is that why would an alignment help since the wear is on ALL 4
TIRES ?

This car is 24 months old BUT with only _ 10K miles on it ……………

Brake Calipers 2003 Sonata

Hi there –I took my Sonata in to the dealer to get the one year
service, and they wanted to do 100 dollars extra work.  They said that
the brake calipers were binding and didn’t have enough clearance, and
they wanted to take them off and sand them down, or sand down the
drum.  I didn’t have the money at the time, and so I couldn’t go for
it.  Does this sound like a rip-off?

Since taking it in, I’ve noticed that the car has trouble doing a an
acceleration after I put on the brake (if you change your mind about
slowing down and need to speed up suddenly), and I wonder if they’ve
screwed with my car, or if it’s just the usual shift problem I
occasionally encounter.  I’ve got about 10,000 kms on it.

Thanks for you help,

Jack

XG350 Wheel Lug Nuts

I assume a special tool is needed to loosen/tighten one of the lug nuts on
an XG350 wheel.  Where is that tool found.  I looked in the trunk with the
jack, etc. but didn’t see anything.  Suggestions?

for hyundaitech

Hello.

My wife’s 1996 Hyundai Sonata will not pass emissions inspection here in
Pennsylvania beacause of  DTC P0110. I am told that it is a malfunction of
the Intake Air Temperature sensor. I did not buy the car new, I have had it
only for 1 year.

I have two questions:

1# Is this a repair that I can do myself?
2# If I cannot do it myself, could it be done at a dealer under a recall
notice?

Any information you can give me would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Elantra turn/brake bulbs How do I access?

Hi,
I have a 2002 Elantra GT 4 door. One of my brake light bulbs burnt out. I
opened the access cover inside the trunk and I’m not sure what to do next.
Should I unscrew the 4 nuts that stick out? I would appreciate any help or
suggestions. Thanks.

Excel Carb

Need a blow-up parts diagram for a carb for a 1986 Excel with a Mikuni Corp
carb.  Specifically need to know where to reinstall the 1/4 inch steel ball
that fell out on disassembly, and a small "o" ring that also fell out.

2000 Tiburon Over-Heating Problem

I have a 2000 tiburon, that is over heating. I put in a new thermostat, but
my fans do not turn on. It doesn’t over heat all the time, but enough to be
a problem. I checked all the fuses, there all good. It hesitates like the
fans are turning on, but they don’t. I have 121,000 miles on it and am the
original owner. Any help is greatly appreaciated. Thanks

2003 Sonata complaint

I really do love my car. I get an amazing number of complements on it’s
looks. It’s the "rare" pearl white. My only complaint is the seats. They’re
fine driving to and from work, 6 minutes each way. But, on longer trips,
over 45 minutes, there just isn’t enough support and I end up with an aching
lower back. Have you experienced the same problem? Have you found a
solution? If so, would you share it with the group?
Thanks, in advance,
John D.

battery issue still under warranty?

I have a battery issue, at least I think that’s what it is. This morning my
’02 Sonata wouldn’t start, all I hear is a continuous fast clicking sound
when I turn over the key. My question is, I’m the 2nd owner of this car
and it has about 42,000 miles on it. I’m not sure when the car was
purchased by the original owner (don’t have the registration at hand) but
I’m pretty sure it was somewhere October of 2001. Is the battery still
covered by the factory warranty or shall I just go ahead and put my own
in? Thanks in advance!
